Almost 3 years ago I left the IT sector to start my own business as a real estate agent on the Costa del Sol. Spain has always been my favorite country. Shortly after my studies in the Netherlands, I left for Spain to study Spanish language and culture at the University of Málaga. I then found work and stayed in Spain for another 3 years before returning to the Netherlands. Many years later I bought an apartment in Benalmádena. I really wanted to spend more time in Spain, but that was difficult to combine with my work as a sales manager and account executive in IT. After a long period of dreaming, I finally dared to take the plunge. I started in 2022 and the company got off the ground. 2024 is an important year for me.
The business is going well, many people are interested and there is still plenty of supply. I have sold very nice homes to very nice customers, who have given me super nice reviews on Google. The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf rewarded my work with a very nice interview. To top it all off, I managed to get certified and joined the real estate agents' association GIPE (comparable to the NVM in the Netherlands). Thanks to the training courses that I successfully completed, I am now an officially recognized real estate agent in Spain and affiliated with GIPE and CEPI.
Last month was the graduation ceremony and that is an official event in Spain.
I can proudly say that I have now realized my dream.
